At glamorous charity event in New York City, Hollywood stars, Cameron Diaz and Leonardo di Caprio, supported Tag Heuer in its effort to help victims of Hurricane Sandy, by raising funds for the volunteer organization New York Cares. The Swiss watchmaker and visitors of the event also benefited UN Women for its struggle to raise awareness for gender equality worldwide. Aside from charity fundraising, Cameron Diaz and Leonardo di Caprio promoted newest Tag Heuer’s watches from the Link Collection.
For each of 500 guests, including NY and Hollywood celebrities, as well as business, fashion and media representatives which all gathered from around the glob to help these noble causes, the renowned Swiss watchmaker pledged $100 to New York Cares’ Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund, as well as another $100 to Cameron Diaz’s partner charity, UN Women (The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women).
“I am very proud to be a part of their efforts to make the world a better and more beautiful place”, said famous actress and the brand’s ambassador, after she took the stage in the American Museum of Natural History, along with her colleague, Leonardo DiCaprio. This was the first time that two stars appeared together on Tag Heuer’s event, Cameron wearing a new Link Lady Trilogy Limited Edition in steel, and Leonardo with a new Link Limited Edition watch, with a blue dial on his wrist.
The Swiss brand’s President and CEO, Jean-Christophe Babin, appeared on the stage with the exclusive yellow gold version of the Trilogy and presented it to Cameron Diaz who was the co-designer of this stunning jewelry set. Proceeds from the sale of this Limited Edition will support UN Women. On the other hand, the profit from the sale of Leonardo di Caprio’s Link Calibre 16 Chronograph, also produced in the Limited Series, will benefit actor’s environmental charity partners, Green Cross International and the Natural Resources Defense Council ( NRDC).
