Steinhart watches are celebrating their tenth year of existence and as a part of the celebration, the Swiss-German company has released Nav B-Chrono 47 Titanium Anniversary Edition model. The timepiece is distinguished with its appealing sandwich-style gray and black dial and even more with its ETA 7753 movement which is opulently finished and exposed at the back of the case. The commemorative model with the styling of a classic pilot watch is issued in a limited edition of 111 pieces. Even though it has just come out, all the copies of the watch worth $1950 are already sold.
The watchmaker that unifies German design with Swiss watchmaking heritage, Steinhart, has been around for a decade. To mark its first big jubilee, the company known for reasonably priced timepieces has prepared three limited series. Among them there is new Nav B-Chrono 47 Titanium Anniversary Edition watch. The main strength of the model is its caliber with chronometer certification by COSC. ETA 7753 movement with 25 jewels and automatic winding is adjusted in five positions, while its power reserve measures to around 44 hours. The movement is likewise opulently finished. Among its abundant decorations, there stands out a winding rotor with gold plating and the brand’s logo.
As it is clear from its name, the commemorative restricted series watch has the diameter of 47 mm. Its height measures to 16.6 mm, while its weight is exactly 135 grams, mostly because it possesses a housing whose main portion is crafted from titanium that got a satinized finish for improved looks. There are also some stainless steel portions as components of its construction, namely its fixed bezel with polished finish and screwed back with transparent section. Furthermore, the latest Steinhart model comes with a domed crystal made of sapphire which received a double glare-proof coating on the inner side for improved legibility. Sapphire is also on the transparent part on the rear side. Unfortunately, the watch lacks substantial water resistance and even showering with it would impair its functioning.
A Gray and Black Sandwich Dial with Blue Luminosity
One of the most attractive traits of Stenihart Nav B-Chrono 47 Titanium Anniversary Edition timekeeper is its sandwich type dial. This means that it actually consists of two layers, while the luminous coating is positioned, or to say sandwiched, in between two surfaces. While the upper layer of the dial is galvanized gray and with vertically brushed finishing, the lower one, exposed on its two chrono sub-counters is in matt black color and with concentric circles finish. It should be noted that Steinhart designers opted for two chrono sub-counters (for 30 minutes and small seconds) and not three, as it is common for the watches with ETA 7753 movements. All three central hands (with minute and hour hands in a classical pilot shape) are blued and treated with Superluminova BGW9, as are its chrono pointers. Besides its eleven Arabic numerals, there is also present the twelfth triangle shaped hour marker with two dots on the top and all of the minute/second markers. In the dark, the watch has a nice looking and very legible blue luminous appearance.
Two Interchangeable Leather Straps Included
Steinhart coupled the model with two types of attachments which are both included with the model. The main wristlet is a special type of handmade leather strap, created by MEVA exclusively for the model. It is in vintage brown color with gray stitching and locks with a pin buckle made of titanium that also has the Steinhart logo on it. The other, spare strap is pilot-styled and made from black leather. This one fastens with a butterfly clasp made of stainless steel.
