Movado has created a special limited edition of its Bold timepiece to commemorate the amazing accomplishment of a baseball star, Derek Jeter of New York Yankees. The famous MLB player has recently become the first Yankees’ player who reached 3000 hits (he is the 28th player in history to achieve this milestone, and only the second one who did it with a home run).
The limited edition that consists of only 300 pieces features a tribute to Jeter’s humanitarian Turn 2 Foundation, dedicated to helping underprivileged kids. As a tribute to Jeter’s feat, the indigo-colored Museum dial is enriched with a single number two at the two o’clock position. NY Yankees captain’s milestone is also commemorated with the appropriate engraving on the case back.
The watches from the limited edition will cost $550, and Movado will donate $100 for each sold piece to Jeter’s charity. “I sincerely thank Movado for their generous support of the Turn 2 Foundation,” explained Derek Jeter. “I started the foundation in 1996 to encourage kids looking for direction to pursue healthy lifestyles and academic excellence. Made possible by our supporters, our programs help these children develop the skills and character they’ll need to become tomorrow’s leaders.”
The representatives of Movado Watches also expressed their satisfaction for launching the limited series, as well as for the opportunity to collaborate with Jeter and his foundation. “It is such an honor to be a part of this historic occasion, and we are very excited to introduce this special edition Movado Bold timepiece to commemorate Derek’s incredible career milestone,” said Mary Leach, the Chief Marketing Officer of Movado Group, Inc.
