The innovative watchmaker, Ressence, has defined some new principles in the high-end watchmaking, by creating a unique Type 3 timepiece that presents so many cool features that it is really hard to decide which one is the most impressive – the fact that the dial is completely separated from the mechanism or liquid-filled indications which seem as they are displayed onto the bubble-shaped sapphire crystal. Furthermore, this great watch has neither a crown nor hands, although it looks like an analog model and once you get used to the way it works, it is pretty easy to use it in three different modes.

Ressence Type 3 Watch Front
The curved dial is treated with DLC and it presents a sandwich-style construction with a titanium membrane that separates the movement and the fluid-filled indication module. This is possible thanks to the patented system that provides information from movement which are transmitted to indications by micro-magnetic fields. All indications on this unusual interface are engraved and filled with white, gray and orange Super-LumiNova which glow green and orange in the dark. This fluid refracts light like air, so that the indications appear like they are projected onto the top crystal. This is possible since this type of liquid minimizes refraction, which makes the impression that the dial is two-dimensional.

Ressence Type 3 Watch Side
Three revolving sub-dials show hours, seconds and days, minutes are indicated by a separate hand at the minute scale that runs around the dial, while the date can be read from the perimeter, at the 6 o’clock position, thanks to the disc that continually revolves below the anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass. The absence of traditional hands is another feature that makes this watch so cool.

Ressence Type 3 Watch Functions
This unique system of showcasing time and date is created and patented by Ressence. It is based on the special module which comprises 28 gears and 57 jewels, a Grade 5 titanium plate integrating three offset bi-axial satellites inclined at 3° and 4.75°, as well as a date ring around the scope.
This module also features, a shock absorption system, a water-resistant seal and is full of fluid. Built of 407 components, including a visible, ring-shape winding rotor, a self-winding mechanism oscillates with 28.800 vibrations per hour and provides about 38 hours of power-reserve.
The absence of a crown on the grade 5 titanium, 44 mm case provides a distinctive futuristic look, but it does not affect the functionality of the watch. All adjustments are replaced to the sapphire case-back. By turning it, you can wind the mechanism. If you make a longer rotation through 200°, you will be able to change the date, while for the hour setting, you need to start from the neutral position and turn in the direction indicated. Thanks to the gravitational gearing system, time setting can be disconnected by simply turning the watch upside down.
