For this year’s Watches & Wonders exhibition in Hong Kong, Cartier has prepared a new collection which consists of sixty-eight pieces including sixteen new creations, as well as two new movements and four unique pieces of High Jewellery. The exceptional timepiece which will delight all female watch fans is Pasha de Cartier 42 mm Skeleton Dragon Motif Watch.
This exquisite novelty from Cartier features adorable interweaving diamond-set bands which form a dragon, with the movement components hidden (although some of them are in view, but each corresponds with the dragon parts). The dragon is not used accidentally. This mythical creature that is the symbol of power and prestige has been very important Chinese motif from the late 19th century, thus being perfectly appropriate for the Chinese market.
Pasha de Cartier Skeleton Dragon Motif Watch is powered with a new mechanical movement with manual winding. The caliber 9617 MC which is capable to deliver a fairly generous power reserve of 3 days (72 hours) has the beating rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). The mechanism and bridges are designed together. The movement is encrusted with 233 diamonds with a marquise-cut tsavorite for the eye of the dragon on the front. When you turn the watch upside down, it is equally beautiful, with engraving on the bridges. Both watchglass and case-back are executed in see-through sapphire. Considering the fact that the mechanism is manually-wound, there is no oscillating weight to block the view of its inner beauty.
This elegant timepiece boasts a serrated screw-down winding crown, encrusted with a brilliant-cut diamond which is one of the most recognizable characteristic features that distinguish the model. The 18-karat white gold case also incorporates a white gold bezel set with brilliant-cut diamonds. The case is constructed to resist water pressure up to 30 meters (about 100 meters).
This elegant newcomer is available in three variants; one model with a black alligator leather strap and two others teamed with articulated bracelets of white gold links set with either brilliant-cut diamonds or with baguette-cut diamonds. The first one is limited to 20 pieces, while the second one is issued in 10 specimens. Each of these three versions ends with a white gold folding buckle set with a brilliant-cut diamond.
