In order to celebrate their 10-year partnership with Bugatti, Parmigiani Fleurier has created a special anniversary watch named the Bugatti Mythe. Actually, this model is first out of three Anniversary Editions that will commemorate Parmigiani and Bugatti partnership.
The Anniversary Bugatti Mythe timepiece uses the same base as the previously presented model Bugatti Type 370, but it features some new materials, as well as a new dial and some specific finishes to the case and movement.
As you can see at the image above, the design is clearly recognizable with this drum-shaped case and a vertical dial that offers easy time reading while driving with hands on the wheel.
The new Bugatti Mythe houses the caliber PF370 manual-wind horizontal movement, with dynamometric starter and impressive 10 days of power reserve. It features the power reserve indicator on the side of a rotating drum.
The movement beats at the frequency of 21,600 semi-oscillations per hour (3Hz) and consists of 314 total parts, 37 of which are jewels. The main plate is encrusted with circular graining and is hand beveled.
Parmigiani Fleurier Bugatti Mythe 10th Anniversary Edition is tooled with a sapphire crystal, a caseback and side windows and is engraved with the limited edition serial number on the case back, and the tribute to the Parmigiani and Bugatti relationship with the phrase: “2004-2014 Modele Unique.”
The new watch is housed in a cylindrical-shaped case that measures 32.40mm x 52.50mm x 18.6mm. A two-toned case is crafted from satin-brushed 18-karat rose gold and mottled anthracite gray surfaces, thus offering a more technical yet refined look. According to the manufacturer, the dual-color effect of the new case pays homage to the industrial and artisanal traditions that the watch and automotive industry share.
The case is shielded with an anti-reflective sapphire glass and constructed to resist water pressure of up to 10 meters (in other words, it means that the watch is not water-resistant).
The ruthenium colored dial with an 18-karat rose gold grill is inspired by the front grill of the iconic Bugatti Type 57. The dial comprises transferred indexes and delta-shaped hands with luminescent coating.
The Bugatti Mythe is mounted with a black Hermes calf skin strap, ending with a rose gold folding buckle. This unique piece is exclusive to the North-American market, and it is expected to be retailed for approximately $430,000.
As I have already mentioned, two more anniversary limited edition timepieces from Parmigiani Fleurier will make their debut later this year: the Bugatti Victoire and the Bugatti Revelation. Stay tuned.
