Someone who is not familiar with the specialized online groups that with the great passion discuss various aspects of their favorite products will probably overlook the uniqueness of Panerai’s latest creation. However, this is not yet another limited edition of the brand’s iconic Radiomir 1940 timepiece, but a very special edition that the renowned watchmaker created exclusively in honor of its fans. Just 500 pieces of the PAM537 Radiomir 1940 3 Days watch will be available for those who claim to be “Paneristi Forever.”
By making a beautiful response to the loyalty of its fans, the Swiss manufacturer with Italian roots did something truly unique in the world of high-end watchmaking brands. The members of the Internet society that gather Panerai’s fans, called Paneristi, had to be really proud to see the name of their group, engraved on the case-back of the iconic Radiomir case. Seems like a good reason for them to stay “Paneristi Forever’’ which is the name of the special edition of PAM537 Radiomir 1940 3 Days watch.
The familiar, cushion shaped Radiomir case is made of stainless steel with a black DLC coating. It is very robust, with the diameter of 47 mm. A round bezel nicely opens a wide black dial with SuperLuminova coated hour markers, Arabic numerals and hands. At the 9 o’clock position, there is a small-seconds sub-dial, while, at the 6 o’clock position, you can see a small picture of men riding a “human torpedo” which was used by the Italian Navy. For those who do not know much about the brand’s history, it became renowned as the watchmaker which produced timepieces for the Italian Navy. The bold looking case is paired with a light brown, natural leather strap, decorated with white stitching.
The new PAM 532 watch is powered by an in-house P.3000 Calibre hand-winding movement. This high-end mechanism provides the power-reserve up to 3 days, thanks to two spring barrels connected in series. It is made of 166 components, including 21 jewels and Incabloc® anti-shock device, and it oscillates at the frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz).
The price of this, 100 meters (330 feet) water-resistant watch will be 9,200 Euros.
