To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Multifort collection, the Swiss manufacturer has launched the new special edition model. The new Mido Multifort 80th Anniversary GMT Edition features classic and timeless elegance that will appeal all the world travelers, as well as watchmaking enthusiasts.

Mido Multifort 80th Anniversary GMT Edition Watch Front
Underneath the front sapphire glass lies a beautiful silver dial which is encrusted with vertical Geneva stripes that evoke the suspender cables of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Back in the early 1930s they were a symbol of architectural modernity.
This exceptional Mido features a second time zone mechanism (T2). The dial incorporates a moving flange which displays the names of cities representing the world’s 24 time zones. An extra touch of sophistication has been added with the touches of blued steel. There are also faceted indexes and individually applied numerals on its dial, as well as a date window which is located at the 3 o’clock position.

The second time zone can be set via the screw-down crown placed at the 2 o’clock position. The small arrow-shaped hand is activated with the crown situated at the 4 o’clock position. It displays the time in the T2 time zone following a 24-hour graduated scale. Both crowns represent a unique design and exude masculine character of the Mido novelty.
The beating heart of the new Multifort 80th Anniversary GMT Edition is Mido 1193 automatic movement which is based on famous ETA 2893-2. The 21 jewels movement has a beating rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and can store energy which will keep the watch working for approximately 42 hours.
The inner beauty of the self-winding mechanism, as well as its decorated oscillating weight with Geneva stripes and engraved Mido logo can be seen through a transparent case back.
