The leading French manufacturer of military and aviator watches, MATWATCHES (MER-AIR-TERRE or Sea, Air, Land), has teamed up with IRON MAIDEN vocalist Bruce Dickinson, to create the official Bruce Aeris quartz chronograph pilot’s watch which is issued in the strictly limited series of 666 individually numbered exemplars.
The Bruce Aeris Official Chronograph is created to commemorate Bruce piloting the IRON MAIDEN’s customized Boeing 747 jumbo jet Ed Force One, around the world on The Book Of Souls 2016 World Tour which carried the iconic band, together with their crew and over 20 tons of stage equipment across six continents. During the tour, the plane completed some 99,003 km (61,518 miles) and 48 sectors of service.
The prestigious limited edition chronograph is characterized by its black PVD coated stainless steel, interchangeable straps and with its high resistance to shocks, traction, bad weather and generally all the other extreme conditions. Its bold and robust case measures 44mm in diameter (without crown protection) and 15,5mm in thickness. The case incorporates a unidirectional bezel and screw down crown and pushers. It is shielded with anti-reflective sapphire glass which is 4mm thick.
The official Bruce Aeris timepiece is able to dive to the depths of amazing 200 meters (approximately 660 feet). The luminous index and hands of its dial are manufactured in Superluminova BGW9, which guarantees high legibility under numerous circumstances. The beating heart of the watch is the Swiss made Quartz Chronograph Ronda 5021.D movement that provides high precision and long-term reliability.
Registration of interest to purchase Bruce Aeris Official Chronograph was opened on July 29, 2016 and the first batch of pieces are ready to be shipped this week. The professional pilot’s pieces are available on a first-come, first-served basis from www.bruceaeris.com.
