Kelly Clarkson is the latest addition to the team of Citizen ambassadors. As the Japanese brand announced, the multiple award winning singer and occasional actress agreed to join the company’s ranks. Clarkson will be the star of the advertising campaign which is expected to kick off next spring. Special models dedicated to the singer are expected to follow.
Initially “discovered” in the first edition of the American Idol show in which she triumphed, Kelly Clarkson has managed to make quite an impressive career during the period of eleven years that she has spent in the limelight. Her success is confirmed by numerous accolades. Among them there are three Grammy Awards, the same number of MTV Video Music Awards and four American Music Awards. Furthermore, Clarkson also snatched two Academy of Country Music Awards and a dozen Billboard Music Awards. More importantly, the American singer who is also referred to as “the original American Idol” stroke gold with the audience and managed to attract a large fan base. She is the 14th best selling artist of the noughties. So far, Clarkson has launched six studio and a single greatest hits albums which were sold in more than 20 million copies around the globe. Moreover, ten of her singles broke through among the top ten on the Billboard 100 Singles Chart.
This summer, Kelly Clarkson spent touring together with Maroon 5. Likewise, she was preparing her first Christmas album which she named Wrapped in Red. The issue became instant success. Its sales are unmatched for a female artist during the last three years, and the album has already been certified as platinum (which means it was sold in more than million copies).
