The Swiss independent Manufacture that made waves in 2012 when it released the world’s very first timepiece that uses fluids to tell time, is back with its new model – HYT H1 Cigar Watch which is the first personalized wristwatch from the young watchmaking brand.
For a short time HYT became known for mixing various objects with alloys without altering their useful properties, such as resistance, strength and density. HYT H1 Cigar is housed in a masculine titanium case which sizes 48.8mm in diameter and 17.9mm in thickness. The case is domed with sapphire crystals and it is water resistant up to 100 meters (approximately 330 feet).
The future owners of the HYT H1 Cigar Watch can choose solid elements of their own personal universe to incorporate in their new timepiece. We have already seen on the HYT H1 Sand Barth Watch that if the sand from a beautiful beach has a deeper meaning for you, the Swiss manufacturer is able to successfully incorporate the sand beach of Anse du Gouverneur St. Barthelemy. With this new timepiece, those of you who are cigar lovers can for example choose for the case to be decorated with the most beautiful leaves of Rodolfo Vitola Fine Cigars.
When the H1 Cigar model incorporates cigar leaves into the bezel, a visually stunning piece is thus created. Developed with La Casa Cubana cigar bar in Singapore, the new timepiece uses leaves from Rodolfo Vitola’s Cuban cigars which are caught and seemingly suspended forever in the watch’s case. Furthermore, the titanium parts of the watch’s case have been treated to create a beautiful brown PVD make over while also providing a stunning soft bronze look which perfectly complements the cigar leaves.
Underneath the front sapphire glass lies the open worked dial which comprises the hour ring that has been transformed from silver to warm brown color that better accentuates the sub-seconds dial. The minutes subsdiary dial is circled in gold and features the logo of La Casa Cubana bar in Singapore, as well as the flags of Cuba and Singapore.
The reverse side of the watch reveals the inner beauty of the watch. An exhibition case back shows the impeccable HYT caliber 101 mechanical movement. The manual-winding mechanism runs at the frequency of 28,800 beats per hour (4 Hz) and is capable to store enough energy to keep the watch ticking for at least 65 hours when fully wound. There is also a print on the case back which depicts the origin of the cigars.
HYT H1 Cigar Watch (ref. 148-NC-RO-GF-AB) is attached to a brown Louisiana alligator leather strap, fitted with a titanium bronze PVD pin buckle. The watch is produced in the ultra limited edition of only 8 examples.
