The latest member of the Hamilton’s large collection of pilot’s wristwatches is the new Khaki X-Wind Limited Edition Watch which comprises two very useful features that will satisfy demands of all aviation enthusiasts: a chronograph function and a drift angle calculator.
This newcomer differs from its predecessors with the new color scheme and a slightly reworked dial that now has a stepped architecture which gives the watch the multi-level form.

A three-dimensional appearance of the dial navigates the eye to its chosen destination, whether it is one of the three chronograph sub-dials, or the date window at the 9 o’clock position, or the surrounding rim and the turning bezel. Instead of the usual chronograph counters, the new Hamilton Khaki X-Wind boasts more attractive totalizers that are styled to resemble aircraft gauges. They all feature stylized metal overlays which do not offer the best legibility, but they give a distinctive style to the new Hamilton watch. There is also a drift angle calculator scale which surrounds the dial surface and is matched by another scale on the bezel.

Hamilton Khaki X-Wind features the skeletonized hands that have been carefully conceived to look like cockpit instruments. To improve legibility Hamilton used luminescent substance for the hour markers and hands.
The watch is housed in a round case crafted from stainless steel. Its masculine case measures 45mm in diameter and incorporates three crowns and two chronograph push-pieces. Two crowns which are set at 2 and 4 o’clock positions are used for the drift angle calculator.

The beating heart of the Khaki X-Wind is the Swiss made Hamilton H-21 automatic chronograph movement which is based on the Valjoux 7750. The self-winding mechanism is built on 25 jewels and has the oscillating rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). The impeccable mechanism comes with increased power reserve of 60 hours when compared to the usual 42 hours.
The watch is protected with an antireflective sapphire crystal. This newcomer also features a see-through sapphire crystal case back where you can enjoy the inner beauty of the mechanism. Among the others, there is an “H” decoration on the bridges and a large Hamilton signature on the winding rotor. The water resistance of the case is assured down to 100 meters (about 330 feet).
