The watchmaking house of Greco Genève unveiled the bold and rebellious timepiece dubbed Les Temps Modernes LTM-22t. This hexagonal and nut-styled watch is a part of Greco Genève’s Les Temps Modernes collection whose stylistic inspiration comes from the famous Modern Times movie (1936) written and directed by the Charles Chaplin (aka Charlie Chaplin).

Greco Genève Les Temps Modernes LTM-22t Watch

The new Les Temps Modernes LTM-22t features several distinctive characteristics. First of all, it is housed in a rugged, black DLC-treated grade 5 titanium case shaped like a hexagonal nut which immediately catches the attention. The case of this modern and eccentric timepiece is designed to play between industrial and futuristic elements. Also, there is a well-known skull motif which asserts itself as a deliberately non-conformist signature by day or night.

Furthermore, the Swiss manufacturer intensifies the originality of the Hexagonal nut-design by adopting a fluorescent look. The watch features fluorescent pigmentation based on a chemical compound used in making banknotes and detectable under UV light. Considering the fact that the usage of this substance is subject to strict quotas, the latest addition to the Greco Genève’s watch family is produced in the ultra-limited series of only 33 pieces.

This newcomer, just like all the other members of the Les Temps Modernes collection, astonishingly unites an elegant avant-garde design with sport, technology and amazingly detailed aesthetics.

The ultra-light and high-performance DLC-treated titanium case is polished and satin-brushed measuring 43mm x 49mm, with the thickness of 13mm. The hexagonal case boasts Clous de Paris hobnail motif, and it is shielded from both sides with sapphire crystals. From the rear, there is an exhibition case back which shows the inner beauty of the watch. The water resistance is assured down to 30 meters (approximately 100 feet).

Underneath the front glass lies an anthracite, circular satin-brushed dial which comprises fluorescent red-lacquered skull motif in its center and fluorescent red cross-motif hour markers. There is also a white-on-black date window located at the 4 o’clock position.

Greco Genève Les Temps Modernes LTM-22t is powered by the caliber ETA 2892 mechanical automatic movement which provides the usual set of functions (hours, minutes, seconds and date). The highly precise and reliable caliber is built on 21 jewels and can store enough energy to keep the watch working for approximately 42 hours.

The LTM-22t Watch is attached to a black rubber strap, fitted with a black DLC-treated titanium folding clasp. The watch is delivered in a matching hexagonal nut-designed presentation box. The retail price is $7,990.

The Les Temps Modernes LTM-22t timepiece is among 23 pieces competing in the men’s category at this year’s GPHG 2016. We at the watchalyzer have already reviewed some of them, such as Armin Strom Edge Double Barrel, Chopard L.U.C XPS 1860, Corum Golden Bridge Round, Grönefeld 1941 Remontoire, HYT Skull Bad Boy, etc.
