A high-end British watch manufacturer, Graham, presents a remarkable technological watch which brings Superlight technology to its peak and to high-end watch making. The new Chronofighter Oversize Superlight Carbon (ref. 2CCBK.B11A.K95K) is the first watch from the Chronofighter series that is crafted from carbon fiber.
This superlight wristwatch comes in a black carbon nanotube composite case. Besides, it features a trigger, a bezel, a dial and a buckle made of the same material. Carbon possesses a couple of unique properties that make it vital in many of the high-performance disciplines, such as aerospace, aeronautics, car racing, sports, as well as other similar domains. Namely, this high-tech and highly resistant material finds its fields that call for lightweight, strength and performance.
The result is that the new Chronofighter Oversize Superlight Carbon complete watch weighs lighter than 100grams. Considering the fact that the watch is housed in a large-sized case with the diameter of 47mm in diameter, the watch is pretty lightweight.
Its colossal case incorporates start and stop lever on the left side, which is the renowned brand’s signature. The lever is also made of plain carbon fiber and it is a unique piece of carbon which provides the timepiece with more stiffness and improved usability.
Underneath the front sapphire glass shielded with an antireflective coating lies a carbon fiber dial which reveals a tachymeter scale and a reversed minute counter which can be used to measure speeds. There is also a seconds counter, and a date display which is located at the 8 o’clock position. The hour and minute hands, numerals and sub-dial’s hands are coated with lime green Superluminova coating to enhanced legibility. Its sport dial is nicely rounded with a robust shiny carbon bezel, which shields the watch face from various external shocks and impacts.
The watch is teamed with a red integrated rubber strap with “Clous de Paris” decoration, ending with a plain carbon fiber buckle. The watch is powered with the caliber G1747 automatic chronograph movement with incabloc shock absorber. The impeccable movement has a beating pace of 28,800 alternations per hour (4 Hz) and is capable to store enough power to keep the watch ticking for around 48 hours. The mechanism is partially revealed through the smoked sapphire crystal case back. The water resistance is assured down to 100 meters (approximately 330 feet). The retail price is CHF 9,900 (around $10,800).
