Among the automotive world inspired timepieces, Giuliano Mazzuoli’s creations stand out by its avant-garde style and truly unique design concept. By using designs of mechanical tools or engine components (check out the review of a Trasmissione Meccanica) as the main motifs for his creations, this innovative watch designer ensured high recognition, while for their inner-parts, he used well-proven Swiss technology. New Manometrino is without doubt the only pocket watch inspired by a pressure gauge. Basically, this is a small version of the brand’s Manometro line, which instead of a classic metal chain which is the main characteristic of pocket watches, features a rubber tube.

It is hard to say what kind of clientele will wear this ultra-unconventional timepiece, but the Italian designer seems pretty confident when it comes to this question. He has not used to produce mainstream pieces, but there are more than enough those who scream for something new and creative. New Giuliano Mazzuoli Manometrino Pocket watch is definitely one of those products. Not just that it does not look like a pocket watch, it also does not look as a timepiece. But there is a great amount of beauty and joy to be reached with the discovery of something unexpected. When you look carefully at its either black or ivory dial, you will find a minute track, Arabic numerals, and hour, minute and seconds hands indicating time.
Another unusual thing about this watch is its petit size which is completely opposite from the classic pocket watches that used to be very robust. However, this is a contemporary watch that has not taken much from the past except of the name and the fact that it shows time. Moreover, it is more accurate since it is powered by ETA quartz movement.

A round case that mimics the look of the pressure gauge has the diameter of just 27 mm. It is made of stainless steel, presented with highly polished surface. There is also a choice of polished or brushed PVD gunmetal finishes. Maybe the highest distancing from the classic watch concept comes with a rubber tube that replaces a traditional chain. As another reminiscent of a pressure gauge, this rubber tube comprises several parts connected by metal joints. Featuring special connectors, the watch can be attached to a part of the wearer’s clothes.
