Richard Mille Watches has appointed François Tauriac as the new Managing Director. The French reporter and publisher who spent his entire career at the Le Figaro Group will be in charge of the brand development. Tauriac is taking charge over the distribution, organization and public relations sections of the company. With the new addition to the company, its CEO Richard Mille will now be able to concentrate on the design and development of the new models.

The new Managing Director of Richard Mille who is naturally also a passionate watch aficionado studied law before he became a journalist at Le Figaro where he wrote for the politics section of the papers. In fact, Tauriac’s complete career is closely tied to the Le Figaro Group and he was involved in its several different publications. After moving to another newspaper owned by the consortium, Tauriac was employed in the TV Magazine where he was finally able to show his true colors. Moving up in the company ranks, he was appointed as the Managing Editor, Editor-in-Chief and ultimately Publisher. As Tauriac progressed, so did the publication which became the number one magazine in The Old Continent with a weekly print-run of 7 million issues and a readership of impressive 17 million. The success of the magazine was naturally a huge achievement for Tauriac individually. More importantly, it served as one of the crucial economical factors and the backbone of the entire Figaro Group. For his part in the success of the brand, Tauriac was made a member of the Executive Committee.
François Tauriac who is supposedly an old friend of Richard Mille is also known as the man behind the popular comedic channel on YouTube dubbed Very Watch. Besides, it is interesting to note that Tauriac, who is now 52 years old, apprenticed to his grandfather, the renowned Parisian jeweler and goldsmith Jacques Lenfant when he was 18. Lenfant provided parts such as watch cases to some of the most iconic jewelry stores at the Place Vendome in Paris.
