The high-end Geneva based watchmaker once again amazed the watch connoisseurs, by launching a new Vintage (Curvex) 7-Days Power Reserve timepiece. Immediately recognizable by its complex “Curvex” shape, this new masterpiece from the brand’s famous Vintage Collection brings together the aesthetical perfection and a high-performance mechanism with exceptional execution. The newest Franck Muller’s watch is available either in stainless steel or pink gold, with the choice of white or inked enamel dial.
Entirely designed and manufactured in Geneva, the new Franck Muller Vintage (Curvex) 7-Days Power Reserve watch will show you something exceptional from each possible angle you look at it. From the front side, you can enjoy beautifully designed dial, demonstrating the most refined classic elegance. There is also an amazing shape, characteristic for the Swiss watchmaker, as well as nicely polished surfaces. The brand’s signature curved case shape, known as the Cintrée Curvex™ can also be admired from the side. Finally, the inner beauty is revealed through a sapphire crystal case-back.
It is an in-house Calibre 1700 S6 hand-winding movement that powers the watch and provides a stunning power reserve of 7 days! In order to reach this level, the mechanism is fitted with an extra barrel. It also features a Breguet hairspring and a balance wheel with screws. Beside its high-end performances, the mechanism is beautifully decorated with Côtes de Genève stripes and set by 27 bright red rubies. Each part required a delicate treatment in order to match necessary curves.
The white or inked enamel dial of the new Franck Muller Vintage (Curvex) 7-Days Power Reserve watch is large and clear, decorated with stylish oversized Arabic numerals. The small seconds sub-dial takes the 6 o’clock position, while the power-reserve indicator is subtly revealed between numerals 10 and 11. There is a version with a railroad style minute scale, running inside the outer rim. However, from the aesthetic perspective, I prefer the version that comes only with hour indications.
There is no information about the size of a case, but according to dimensions of other Curvex models, it is certainly a pretty robust watch. If I have to guess, I would say its length is about 47mm. The refined elegance of this watch is complemented by a stylish leather strap, either in black or brown color. The price of the red gold version is CHF 20,800 (around $22,500).
