Franck Muller – HKTDC Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair

A Swiss watchmaker, Franck Muller, is world famous for creating complicated timepieces. On the largest watch event in the world – HKTDC Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair, this manufacturer will present Giga Tourbillon watch – the world’s largest tourbillon ever incorporated into the wristwatch.

Its tourbillon has 20 mm in diameter, and it dominates the entire lower half of the watch. It is equipped with four barrels, because it needs much more power than the traditional tourbillons which are generally powered by only one or two barrels. Firstly, the barrels are paired in series to double the operating reserve, and after that they are assembled parallel to one another, so that the power of the manually wound mechanical movement is doubled.  The Caliber FM 2100, built on 29 jewels, provides an amazing operating reserve of 10 days, displayed at midday (traditional winding by the crown). The movement has been reversed with the bridges placed on the dial side.

The case measures a solid 43.7 x 59.2 mm, with the thickness of 14 mm, and is crafted in 18 karat white gold, with or without black a PVD treatment. Further, Giga Tourbillon timepiece allows 30 meters (100 feet) of water resistance. This exceptional watch is attached to a hand-sewn black alligator strap.

There are three skeleton versions of this watch (the model 8889 T G SQT BR has a silver case, the model 8889 T G SQT NR features a black PVD coating and the model 8889 T G SQT D has diamonds set on its case).

The watch house of Franck Muller also brought one ladies’ watch from the double mystery collection. The new Ronde Family of watches includes four dazzling timepieces. Each of them consists of two diamond-studded rotating plates which are surrounded by markers of precious stones. These markers allow time reading, because the Mystery has neither numerals, nor hands.

The previous models from this collection only counts the hours of the day. Franck Muller and his team have successfully achieved to incorporate a minute disc. They used the complication from the Caliber 99 and invented an exclusive mechanism which provides complete time reading. The result is a stunning ladies’ timekeeper that has an automatic winding mechanism with 950 platinum rotor and Caliber FM 2800 V. With two rotating discs set on the dial and revolving at different speeds, the Swiss watchmaker that uses the slogan “Master of Complications”, succeeded to provide complete time-reading. In the end, I forgot to mention that the design of this watch is outstanding. The sparkling of the dial and the case is adorable. This fabulous ladies’ wristwatch comes in elegant round case which is made from a single block of solid gold platinum. And do not forget – the mystery of its complication is hidden inside the case.
