Although it was originally intended to be available in July, some unexpected problems have delayed shipments of the first Fossil MetaWatches until September. Due to some issues with this product’s programming clips and steel cases, distributors will not get the first batches of MetaWatch until the beginning of the next month. Even when they do, it will still take a week or two for the Fossil’s product to reach the customers. However, it is still possible to pre-order this smart watch at the price of $200.
The product which was initially announced in May will be able to communicate via Bluetooth not only with smart phones, but also with desktop and laptop computers. To enable this, Fossil included CC2560 Bluetooth platform constructed by Texas Instruments.
As announced, MetaWatch will also be capable of receiving push notifications from e-mails or social networks. According to your preference, you can choose between a digital and analog version of Fossil MetaWatch. Hopefully, there will be no more delays and the first MetaWatches will appear on the streets next month.
