The Swiss Jura-based watch manufacturer presented its Chronodakar Limited Edition watch which will be the official timekeeper of the 2013 Dakar Rally. Like the three previous limited edition models launched in honor of Dakar Rally, the new Edox possesses all the brand’s values, such as strength, great technical ability and constant drive for perfection.

Edox Chronodakar Limited Edition 2013 Watch
The new Edox is constructed to withstand the most extreme desert conditions. It is housed in a large-sized case crafted from 316L stainless steel and coated with ultra virile black PVD material. Its masculine case measures 45mm in diameter and incorporates a black PVD bezel inscribed with red Arabic numerals to mark time in five minutes steps. On the right side of the case, there is a screw-down crown, as well as STOP and START chronograph pushers that recall engine functions.
The case is protected with scratch-proof and glare-proof sapphire crystals and it is water resistant up to 100 meters (approximately 330 feet).
The dial of the official timekeeper of the 2013 Dakar Rally features black, red and white colors. The sleek, black dial comprises Arabic numerals as hour markers, two sub-dials and a date window located at the 6 o’clock position. Numerals at the quarter hour, as well as hour and minute hands are colored in a striking red. The 30 minutes chronograph counter is situated between three and four o’clock positions, while a small seconds counter is displayed on the opposite side, between eight and nine o’clock positions. There is also a tachymeter scale, set on the dial periphery which nicely rounds the dial surface.

For the best feel on the wrist, Edox chose to attach the Chronodakar with a structured black rubber strap equipped with a stainless steel buckle that features the engraved band’s logo.
The driving force of Edox Chronodakar Limited Edition timepiece is Edox 103 quartz chronograph movement which is based on Ronda 5021.D.
