The Chex de Fonds luxury watchmaker, TAG Heuer, has strengthened its ranks with the acquisition of the famed Portuguese soccer player, Cristiano Ronaldo, as the brand’s ambassador. It has been announced that the current holder of the prestigious Ballon d’Or award which is given by FIFA to the best player of the year will be TAG Heuer’s partner for several upcoming years, though the details of the arrangement have not been entirely disclosed.

New TAG Heuer Ambassador
Talking about the deal, the Portuguese forward spoke highly of the Chaux de Fonds watchmaker: “TAG Heuer is by far the best at what it does and has been for more than 150 years.” Cristiano Ronaldo underlined that the charm of the brand lies in the fact that it is immensely glamorous, yet at the same time unconventional and concluded how it is “a great honor to be a part of such a powerful and pioneering legacy”.
TAG Heuer’s CEO, Stephane Linder, returned the compliment to the athlete and explained why the brand has decided to sponsor a soccer player for the first time in the brand’s history: “Every TAG Heuer creation celebrates intense life in the contemporary arena, and no individual represents this more powerful than Cristiano.” Linder than added: “Like TAG Heuer, Cristiano demands perfection and pushes himself harder than anyone in his domain.”
By starting the partnership with the Real Madrid’s best player, the Swiss watchmaker thus only further strengthened its impressive list of famous ambassadors from sports, as well as other fields. Cristiano Ronaldo will promote the company alongside with a tennis player Maria Sharapova, racing drivers Jenson Button and Sebastian Ogier, movie stars Brad Pitt and Cameron Diaz and others.
