The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) has unveiled its competing timepieces for this year, with its ladies’ watch category featuring the highest number of participants. One of them is a fabulous Christophe Claret Marguerite Watch.
After the prize awarded to the brand’s very first ladies’ timepiece named Margot in the “Ladies’ High-Mech” category two years ago, the Christophe Claret enters this year’s competition with the stunning Marguerite model. This novelty, like its ancestor or elder sister, represents the ultimate romantic timepiece featuring a declaration of love.
Besides the hour and minutes which are shown by two butterflies, there is also a second display which is hidden within the timepiece. By the push of a push-piece at the 2 o’clock position, the Arabic numerals 3, 6 and 9 disappear, to be replaced by a secret, personal message: “Il m’aime passionément” (He loves me passionately).
Furthermore, this message can be personalized according to customers’ wishes via a configurator on the brand’s website. Fittingly, the new ladies’ timepiece from the house of Christophe Claret can display any message requested by the future owner, in any desired language, but with a limited number of characters. Releasing the pusher makes the hour display reappear again. From the rear, it is possible to indulge in the “He loves me… he loves me not” game, the simplified English version of daisy petals.
Also, this eye-catching ladies’ piece is offered in all five variants. There is a choice between white or 5N red gold case, as well as between “flake” or “champagne” settings. Each version is available in the limited quantity of 30 specimens. The model that enters the GPHG 2016 competition is 5N gold version with “champagne” setting.
As you probably know, the annual awards is judged each year by fresh jury members which will be making their official pre-selection. The public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite timepiece that will take part in the final selection. For 2016 edition, the total of 172 entrants have been selected across 12 categories.
The entire line-up for this year’s GPHG edition is available on the official website of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. Among participants in the same “Ladies’ High-Mech” category there is also a beautiful Ulysse Nardin Skeleton Tourbillon Pearl Watch that I have reviewed earlier.
