Founded in 1955, the Porsche Club of America (PCA) has grown to great heights and became the largest mono-brand car club in the world. To celebrate its 60th anniversary next year, PCA has worked with Chopard to create a Mille Miglia chronograph for club members only. The result is the extremely sporty Mille Miglia PCA limited edition watch that is issued in the limited quantity of only 66 examples.
Chopard Mille Miglia Porsche Club of America 60th Anniversary Watch is a version of the standard Mille Miglia chronograph that features a self-winding chronograph ETA 2894 movement which comes with Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC) certification. The mechanism provides functions of hours, minutes, seconds and date.
Instead of the standard black dial, this limited edition timepiece boasts a metallic blue dial. When you turn the watch upside down, there is the PCA logo silkscreened into the sapphire case back.
The new Chopard watch is housed in a round case with the diameter of 42mm. The Swiss-based luxury watchmaker actually offers two versions of this true collector’s piece: a stainless steel version which is issued in 60 specimens and an 18-karat rose gold model which is produced in an ultra limited series of only 6 pieces.
This newcomer can be ordered now with a delivery expected for late November/early December. The retail price for steel version is $5,990, while the rose gold model can be purchased for $21,000. All club members can order the watch online at www.pcatime.com.
Chopard has been the sponsor of the Mille Miglia for 25 years and it has a significant involvement in motor racing. Chopard’s owner, the Scheufele family, are keen vintage car collectors.
Earlier this year, Chopard launched L.U.C. 1963 50th Anniversary Chronometer watch to mark the 50th anniversary of the Scheufele family’s ownership of Chopard.
