This year, Chopard has launched a new jewellery watch from the Imperial collection. This exceptional timepiece is crafted from 18-karat white gold and set with sparkling diamonds. It features the Tahitian mother-of-pearl dial with Roman numerals and curved hands which are reminiscent of the tapered daggers that were used by sovereigns in battle.
The new Imperiale 36mm Joaillerie (ref. 384242-1006) is housed in an elegant 18-karat white gold case which measures 36mm in diameter and 9.30mm in thickness. The bezel and the lug-covers are entirely set with diamonds.
The shape of the lugs reflects the tradition of ancient Romain era columns famed for their perfectly balanced proportions. A diamond-set crown nicely curved like a lotus flower is fitted on the case middle with its sleek sides designed to give the watch a lighter touch and an even more dazzling glow. The water resistance of the case is assured down to 50 meters (about 165 feet).
Underneath the front glare-proofed sapphire crystal glass lies a gray mother-of-pearl dial with rhodium sword-shaped hour and minute hands, rhodium Roman numerals and diamond-set hour-markers. The fascinating dial also comprises diamond-set central decorative ring. The reverse side of the watch reveals the Imperiale logo on the solid case back.
The beating heart of the Chopard Imperiale 36mm Joaillerie Watch is a self-winding movement that offers the utmost precision and the highest reliability. The mechanical movement is built on 25 jewels and oscillates at the rapid frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). The impeccable mechanism is capable to store enough power to keep the watch working for no less than 42 hours when fully wound.
The watch is attached to a subtle silver-toned brushed canvas strap which sets the perfect crowning touch. The wristlet keeps the watch secured to the wrist with an 18-karat white gold pin buckle. This exquisite timepiece can be a perfect gift that will put a huge smile on the face of the loved one.
