This August, Cetina launches its new Limited Edition DS-2 Chronograph to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the partnership with the Sauber F1 Team. This exceptional timepiece was officially unveiled last week in Sauber F1 Team’s paddock hospitality in Monza by Certina’s President, Adrian Bosshard. The founder of the Swiss Formula One team, Peter Sauber, and the current team’s principal, Monisha Kaltenborn, as well as the Sauber F1 Team drivers, Estéban Gutierrez and Adrian Sutil, received the first pieces from this limited edition series that comprises only 2,014 specimens.

Certina DS 2 Chronograph Sauber F1 Team Watch
The new Certina DS 2 Sauber Team timepiece is housed in a recognizable stainless steel case with the diameter of 41mm. Its sporty case incorporates a black aluminum bezel engraved with a white tachymeter scale. On the right side of the case there is a screw-down crown surrounded with two chronograph push pieces. The crown is engraved with letters “DS” (Double Security) which means that the watch is highly resistant to dust, shock and moisture. Like the previous versions of DS 2 Chronographs, this newcomer features water resistance of up to 100 meters (about 330 feet).

Underneatch anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass lies a black carbon coated dial that comprises two chrono counters which stand out with their hints of red at the 2 o’clock position and the 10 o’clock position. The first one counts time up to 30 minutes, while the latter measures time up to 12 hours.
There is also a small seconds sub-dial which is located at the 6 o’clock position. The hour and minute hands are filled with Superluminova to insure better visibility under low light conditions. A small black-on-white date window is placed at the 6 o’clock position inside the small seconds counter.
The beating heart of the novelty that celebrates ten-year partnership between Sauber F1 Team and the Swiss watch manufacturer is the Swiss Made ETA Precidrive quartz movement (ETA 251.264 CEN) which features the precision of a chronometer with 1/100th of a second accuracy.
The watch is teamed with a sleek, black leather strap with red stitching, fitted with a steel folding buckle with twin push-buttons. The retail price of the newest Certina timepiece is CHF880 which is approximately $940.
