The first of its kind, an unusual hybrid of fine watchmaking and telecommunications, the first cellular phone with a mechanical flying tourbillion watch, or even an over-priced and over-complicated toy for the extremely rich… No matter which of these descriptions you find the most fitting for the Celsius X VI II LeDix, its originality will always be recognized and the attention it produces is guaranteed. This is bound to happen at World Brand Piazza, at a special exhibition held at Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair which was the latest place where this special product was displayed.

Basically, the LeDix is a clamshell cellular phone, supplied with an additional tourbillion watch (Or, would it be better to say a mechanical watch with a phone?). With the design resembling a racing car, the luxury product is made of brushed and polished grade 5 titanium. It can also pride itself with its timekeeping accomplishments, since it has one of the most treasured of all complications – a flying tourbillion. Moreover, its flying solitaire tourbillion is paired with advanced shock absorbers and with unparalleled offset of 36 mm. Considering its originality, exceptional features and construction, it does not come as a surprise that its price is around amazing $300,000, making it prominent in both categories it belongs to.

Open and Close the Phone for Six Hours of Power Reserve

Each opening and closing of the clamshell phone is actually the way to supply the 100 hours power reserve of its movement with additional three hours. This is possible due to development of a special Butterfly Winding (Remontage Papillon) system, placed within the hinge. The communication platform included was developed with a distinguished French company, Sagem Wireless. The main attention was given to supplying the essential features, and to its reliability and simplicity, so the phone is not a 3G device. The phone has a 2.2’’ display, Bluetooth and a 3.2 Mpix camera. Its battery functions for 3.5 hours of talking time, or up to 240 hours in a standby mode.

Overall, the Celsius X VI II consists of more than 600 parts, while the movement itself is comprised of 330 components. It is also worth noting that it takes six months for 35 artists and engineers to create a single product.

The list of goodies, included with this hybrid is also impressive: each new owner will receive the LeDix with accessories such as: “LeKit” – a hands-free set, “LeBase” – the base station, “LeChaine” – an imaginative chain system, “LeHolster” – a neat holster-type pouch. Each of the accessories is crafted from noble and quality materials, in accordance with glamour this product possesses.

The intricate LeDix is pretty heavy with its 245 g. Besides, it is 103 mm wide, 498 mm high and 29 mm thick. There are two versions of this hybrid: the LeDix Origine with ebony inserts, and the LeDix Veloce in black PVD titanium with carbon fiber inserts. Both series are limited to 18 pieces each.

The Celsius X VI II will be entering the upcoming Only Watch auction with a less pricey, yet unique hybrid of mechanical watch and a cell phone that, unlike the LeDix, does not include a flying tourbillion.

this is so wicked! pure luxury, it almost sounds surreal that there is a phone with a mechanical watch. plus the watch has a flying tourbillon! fantastic, a bit over the top, but still ;)
