The newest member of the Carl F. Bucherer Manero collection is an amazing Manero column wheel flyback chronograph model that like all others Manero timepieces features sporty, yet classic design.
Carl F. Bucherer Manero Flyback Chronograph Watch is powered with an intricate chronograph movement controlled by a gearwheel. The beating heart of the watch is the in-house manufactured caliber CFB 1970 self-winding movement which is built on 25 jewels and that operates at the frequency of 28,800 variations per hour (4 Hz). The impeccable mechanism can store enough energy to keep the watch working for approximately 42 hours.
The watch is equipped with an additional Flyback function which provides timing a second interval when the chronograph hand is still running and without having to stop the counters first, simply by pressing the reset push-piece. It is necessary to press the pusher three times in order to measure successive time intervals: stop the chronograph, reset and re-measure.
The mechanism features an oscillating mass, encrusted with Côtes de Genève pattern. Beneath the oscillating mass, some of the bridges and areas of the main-plate are visible, adorned with perlage. From the rear, the view through the sapphire display back invites the wearer to enjoy the inner beauty of the movement.
The new Manero Flyback Chronograph Watch is housed in an elegant, round case which measures 43mm in diameter and 14.45mm in thickness. The nicely balanced case rounds a high-quality silver dial.
The beautiful dial comprises ten raised indexes and two sub-dials. The first one located at the 9 o’clock position is a small seconds counter, while on the opposite side, at the 3 o’clock position there is a stop minute totalizer. The two counters are recessed and combined with the surrounding raised border encrusted with a tachymeter scale to underline the three-dimensional quality of the dial layout. A black-on-white date window is positioned at the 6 o’clock position. There are also sword-styled hands which are just like the hour markers crafted from the same metal as the case.
Carl F. Bucherer offers two versions of the Manero Flyback Chronograph. The luxurious one is housed in 18-karat rose gold case and priced at $21,400. This version is a competing piece for this year’s GPHG annual award in the chronograph category.
The Swiss luxury watch manufacturer also offered a more affordable variant of the Manero Flyback Chrono which is housed in a stainless steel case.
