In order to mark 130th anniversary of the renowned Counter Terrorism Unit of Scotland Yard, Brenont created an attractive sporty mechanical watch with a bold appearance and high functionality. This new SO15 GMT Chronograph comes in two sizes, providing both masculinity and discrete sporty elegance to suit men’s outfit in more formal occasions. For extraordinary performances, there are officially certified chronometers which power these superb models.
The world famous Counter Terrorism Command, also known as SO15, based at New Scotland Yard in London, chose the British watchmaker to create a special edition of timepiece for the occasion of 130th birthday of the Unite. Consequently, the new model will come in the limited edition of 130 pieces. This number appears at the top of the 30-minute chronograph counter, instead of the 30-minute inscription, so do not be confused because of that. Two chrono counters, one at the 12 o’clock and another one at the 6 o’clock position (counting 12-hour intervals) appear in bright blue color which looks great over a silver background.
If you pay more attention to the dial, you will notice a nice pattern, showcasing a world map. At the 9 o’clock position, there is a small seconds sub-dial, while the date window takes the opposite side. The central part of the dial is first surrounded with the minute scale and then with the names of the world’s cities. There are four central hands – the usual hour and minute hands which show main time, the central chronograph hand and finally, the fourth hand that indicates time in the second time-zone.
The case is made of stainless steel with a nice combination of satin and polished finishes. It perfectly matches a great looking stainless steel bracelet. The first version has the diameter of 43mm and it houses a BE-54AE Bremont GMT chronometer self-winding mechanism, while the smaller version comes with 37 mm in diameter and it is powered by BE-36AE self-winding movement.
The cofounder of Bremont, Nick English, was very pleased to announce the new model: “Bremont is honoured to be involved with an organisation that has played such a vital role in the security of our nation and its capital for so many years. There is such a lovely synergy between the two organizations, especially the British connection”.
