For the sixteenth years in a row, Blancpain unveils a new limited edition timepiece to mark the most romantic holiday of the year – Saint Valentine’s Day. This year, the Swiss manufacturer launches its flagship Ladybird model in a special limited edition. As it was expected from the house of Blancpain, this newcomer like its ancestors, boasts a sparkling diamond-clad bezel and a gorgeous mother-of-pearl dial with amazing details that celebrate love.
The very first Ladybird timepiece was introduced 60 years ago and it was the world’s smallest round watch at the time. In 2016, this historic model returns to celebrate the magic of love.
Blancpain Ladybird Saint Valentine’s Day 2016 is housed in a small white gold case which measures only 21.5 mm in diameter. The feminine case incorporates a beautiful bezel graced with more than 0.5 carats of diamonds.
Underneath the front sapphire glass lies a stunning mother-of-pearl dial adorned with dazzling brilliant-cut diamonds. The center of the dial boasts a nacre marquetry heart where the upper portion is encrusted with diamonds and rubies.
The new Blancpain watch accommodates one of the smallest movements in the world. The impeccable caliber 6150 self-winding movement measures only 15.7 mm in diameter. The 29 jewels movement is equipped with a silicon balance-spring and it consists of 180 individual parts. The mechanism promises at least 40 hours of power reserve.
As you can see at the image above, this exquisite limited edition timepiece comes with a removable white gold charm picturing a heart pierced by an arrow which is crafted from rubies and diamonds. It can easily be detached and attached at either 6 o’clock or 12 o’clock depending on the taste of its future owner.
The Ladybird Saint Valentine’s Day 2016 (ref. 0063F-1954-63A) is produced in the limited quantity of 99 engraved and numbered pieces. The gorgeous wristwatch comes with the equally gorgeous white calfskin strap that looks great on a lady’s wrist.
