The Swiss watchmaking brand once again shows its attachment to feminine timepieces by launching a special edition model to mark the 60th birthday of its iconic collection of ladies’ watches, Ladybird.
Blancpain Ladybird 60th Anniversary is produced in the limited series of only 60 pieces worldwide. In order to mark this anniversary, Blancpain has launched several models of famous Ladybird timepiece. The very first model this year has been the romantic timepiece unveiled earlier for Saint Valentine’s Day.
The latest Ladybird watch boasts a mother-of-pearl dial graced with luminous contrasts. The gorgeous dial displays an elaborate foliage pattern and it is encrusted with 8 diamonds which serve as hour markers except for the quarter hours. The bezel which nicely rounds the dial continues this sparkling effect with 32 diamonds set on it.
The Anniversary model is housed in a small, feminine case crafted from 18-karat white gold measuring only 21.50mm in diameter and 8.23mm in thickness.
The very first Ladybird that was launched back in 1956 was powered with the smallest round movement on the market at the time. Its heir from 2016 is also equipped with a very small mechanism. The beating heart of this year’s Ladybird model is the impeccable caliber 6150 self-winding movement with a silicon balance spring. The precise and reliable mechanism is capable to store enough power to keep the watch ticking for at least 40 hours when fully wound.
The strap of the latest Blancpain ladies’ model is exclusively crafted from the small scales of Louisiana crocodile leather, thus creating a particularly refined aesthetic effect and completing the overall feminine look of this Ladybird special edition timepiece.
