In order to benefit researches in paraplegia around the world, the Geneva based watchmaker created one-of-a-kind watch, called a Continuity Ocean. This poetic ladies’ timepiece will be sold at the Bal du Printemps auction, on the 15th anniversary of this noble event. Like some other watches from the brand’s Continuity collection, the unique model presents a sea turtle on its colorful dial, but this time more striking and vivid than ever before.

Blacksend Continuity Ocean Piece Unique Watch

Blacksand Continuity Ocean watch is the best proof that after hundreds of years of watchmaking and millions of different models being produced, talented watchmakers still have a capacity to create something completely different and original. Although this is a timepiece made of precious materials, Blackstand chose not to over-expose its luxury. Instead, each diamond and each gold element is subtly incorporated in the artistic totality that brings us into the divine under-water world. It goes perfectly with one of the brand’s main principles that says: “Celebrating time in the present in order to preserve the future”.

A 5N rose gold case has the diameter of 41mm and it nicely combines polished and satin finishes. Made and engraved manually from the same material, there is a cool looking turtle figure, diving in the center of the dial. Its background faithfully represents Ocean’s depths, thanks to a meticulous cloisonné grand feu enamelling and hand-painting. Blacksand’s poetic way of displaying time does not disturb this wonderful spectacle.

An in-house Calibre 1999 jumping hours – night and day mechanism uses separate discs to indicate hours, minutes and day/night. Jumping hours are shown through the aperture at the 12 o’clock position, while the dragging-type minutes display takes the 6 o’clock position. Finally, there is a day/night indicator at the 3 o’clock position. This self-winding mechanism provides 42 hours of power-reserve.

The inner bezel ring of Blacksand Geneva Continuity Ocean watch is completely set with 80 VVSI TopWesselton diamonds (0.60 karats), which brings a serious level of luxury and sophistication. Following the colors of the dial, there is an ocean blue alligator leather strap with a 5N gold pin buckle.

The Bal du Printemps auction will be organized in Geneva, on March 21, 2013. So, if you like this great piece unique and want to help researches in paraplegia, you are welcome to enter the race for this watch.
