The Swiss watchmaker specialized in creating reliable pilot watches, this time paid tribute to the civil aviation of 1960s, marked by the production of Dassault’s famous Mystère – Falcon 20. In order to celebrate the 50th birthday of the best business jet of its time, Bell & Ross launched Vintage Sport Heritage Falcon BR 123 Watch and BR 126 Chronograph model. These modern timepieces with the vintage spirit come in two limited editions of 500 pieces.

With its watches, the Swiss watchmaker pays homage to five most important periods in aviation history and the technological breakthroughs that happened from the 1900s to the present day. With this particular line of pilot timepieces, Bell & Ross put the stress on the 1960s era of civil aviation. In that period, Dassault start developing a small, twin-engine, 10-seat business jet, the Mystère 20. On May 4, 1963 the craft made its first flight, reaching the immediate commercial success, known as the Falcon. Dassault still produces high-end jets under this brand – Falcon 7X generation business jets and the 2,250th Falcon.

Bell & Ross created two cool looking sport timepieces that bear the name of the famous craft. The Vintage Sport Heritage Falcon BR 123 watch offers basic time-telling features and date, while the BR 126 also features chronograph performances. Both models have vintage brown dials and matching leather straps. The interesting vintage look is additionally emphasized by the use of sand-colored hands, numerals and indices. At the 6 o’clock position, each timepiece displays a Falcon’s outline, while the “50 ans du Falcon” logo appears on the sapphire crystal case-back.

A stainless steel case has the mid-size diameter of 41 mm. It is nicely polished and paired with a black bezel that features 60-minute graduations. The Chrono model comes with the 30-minute scale at the 9 o’clock position, while the small seconds sub-dial takes the 3 o’clock position. The round date window is placed between 4 and 5 o’clock positions. A convex, anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass protects the dial and contributes to a high legibility of all indications. Inside the case, there is a Swiss made self-winding movement which is revealed through the transparent case-back. Both watches have solid water-resistance of up to 100 meters (330 feet).
