The independent high-end watch manufacturer, Ateliers deMonaco, has presented a new ladies’ model from its Ronde de Monte-Carlo collection which includes round shaped pieces. The new feminine timekeeper is a three-hand model equipped with an in-house self-winding movement. There are five variants of the watch with a gold housing which are all made with a mother-of-pearl dial in either white or blue shade. Four of the versions are embellished with 1.33 carats of diamonds which are set on the bezel, whereas the most lavish variant has additional gems with the total amount of precious stones approaching 3 carats. Each of the five styles of Ateliers deMonaco Ronde de Monte-Carlo Ladies is released in the limited edition of 88 copies.
As the representatives of the brand state, the new ladies’ watch is meant to be a meld of styles. It is supposed to ooze with femininity, luxury and in the same time to be a representative of a sporty chic appearance. This was done quite skillfully with the clever mixture of noble materials and elegant forms which are all quite appropriate for the collection that was named after Monte Carlo, the most luxurious and the best-known part of the country from which the brand originated.
Rose or White Gold, White or Blue Mother-of Pearl
When it comes to the materials, the mentioned combination of noble materials is embodied in the mixture of an 18 K gold case and a mother-of-pearl dial. The case is made in either red or white gold and has a titanium core for better structural integrity. The housing consists of 31 parts in total and it is 39 mm wide and 11 mm thick. It displays alternating brushed and polished finishes. The fixed bezel of the round-shaped watch is covered with three rows of diamonds. There are 300 gems on it with the total weight of around 1.33 carats. The most lavish version of the piece includes additional diamonds all over its lugs and case-band (as well as some that are set inside hour markers), which raises the total amount of stones to 625 weighing about 3 carats (2.97 carats on the housing and the rest on the dial).
Surrounded with a gem-set bezel there is a sapphire crystal with multiple glare-proofed coatings for an improved legibility. There is also a sapphire panel on the case-back which is fixed with four screws. The entire construction is water resistant to 30 meters.
Simple and Effective
Under the sapphire crystal lays a charming and simple mother-of-pearl dial with four oversized Roman numerals and rhombus-shaped hour markers which are all applied to the surface and made in the color that matches the case. The dial with two concentric squircles (the shape that combines a square and a circle or a rounded square) likewise integrates dauphine shaped hour and minute hands, as well as a central seconds hand. Just like the indices, the material of hands matches the one that was used for the construction of the housing.
Proprietary Automatic Caliber with Sillicium Escape Wheel
Even though the ladies’ novelty by Ateliers de Monaco includes only three hands as its supported features, it still has quite a respectable movement. It is proprietary automatic dMc- 700 caliber with a sillicium escape wheel which implies that it is resilient to magnetism, corrosion and wear. The operational frequency of the regulating organ measures to 4 Hz, while the caliber with 26 integrated jewels has the slightly shorter power reserve of 42 hours. Caliber dMc- 700 is likewise enriched with high-end finishes. Its bridges are treated with perlage and lozenge decorations, while the rotor that winds the main-spring barrel is made in 22 K rose gold and it is additionally engraved.
Ateliers deMonaco Ronde de Monte-Carlo Ladies is paired with a hand-stitched alligator leather strap that locks with a folding clasp made of the combination of the material of the case and titanium.
