In order to make its watches more appealing and to add more charm and prestige, Invicta Watches has decided to team up with innovative contemporary artists for the first time. The new watches are made in cooperation with New York born Erni Vales, and with the British artist Nick Gentry. These timepieces are created in the limited edition and are a part of the new Artist Series sub collection (similar collaborations are quite common for Casio Baby-G products) which is placed in the Russian Diver section of Invicta. The main advantages of these products are their stylish and hip dials that allow their wearers to be in accordance with the very latest of trends. Unfortunately, their technical specifications are not that impressive. Now, let us share more details about the artists that worked together with the Texas based company, as well as about the designs they came up with.

Three Designs by Erni Vales

Erni Vales began his fruitful career in New York City. His first mediums were graffiti that he used to create on subway cars. Apart from his distinctive three dimensional colorful graffiti, he also made canvas paintings that received the same doze of acclaim. Currently, the artist that dubs his works of art “EVIL World” resides and creates in Miami. For the collaboration with Invicta Watches, Erni Vales devised three timepieces that are called Lace Twin (11151), Leather Twin (11152) and Panda Suit (11153). These bright-colored timepieces are named after the motifs that are represented on the dials. Each of these products is made in the limited edition of 777 pieces.

They are set in solid stainless steel cases of substantial size, with the diameters of 52 mm. The casings with short blast finishes are made with screw down backs that display the artist signature. Inside the circular housing, Invicta has placed professional quartz movements. All of the faces are guarded with flame fusion crystals and are crafted with sunray dials that include Trinite luminous hands, which improves their legibility. In each of the models, the strap is constructed out of high grade polyurethane, and fastens with a stainless steel buckle. Whoever decides to buy one of the models, will be glad to know that it comes packed in the distinctive Special Edition Artist’s box. Three watches that were designed by Erni Vales also have water resistances to 100 meters and they all cost exactly $400 each. These models are available only via the artist’s gallery.

Urban Art Scene Style from London – Design by Nick Gentry

The second famed person from the world of art that teamed with Invicta for the premier edition of new Artist’s Series is London based, Nick Gentry. He is an artist who is influenced by the consumerism, technology (especially obsolete type) and cyberculture. Widely recognized for his innovative floppy disk paintings, Gentry is one of the most prominent members of urban art scene in the capital of UK. His works have been exhibited throughout the world.

Nick Gentry designed a single product for Invicta – the fine looking watch that displays one of his paintings (The Secret Key) on the dial. The case is rectangle shaped and slightly arched, which enables better fit, as well as the additional doze of aesthetic appeal. This timepiece is, just like the creations of the previous artist made in the limited edition of 777 pieces. It also features a crown with a protective cap and a chain. There are two versions of the wristwatch – with the silver toned and with red gold toned steel cases. The watch by Invicta and Nick Gentry is paired with a leather strap. It is available for purchase only through the Miami based, Robert Fontaine Gallery.
