To mark its third season as the official timing partner of the Marussia F1 Team, Armin Strom launched two limited series Racing Tourbillon models: the Tourbillon Racing, as well as the Tourbillon Earth. The first one has red and black color combination just like Marussia F1 Team and it has become the sixth model in the Armin Strom Racing Line of watches.
Armin Strom has been known for its high-end sports watches and the new Tourbillon Racing model continues the tradition.
This newcomer boasts the distinctive red colored (elox-coated) and skeletonized bridges of Armin Strom’s in-house manufactured ATC11-MR tourbillon movement. Bridges are made from an aluminum alloy that is produced from the parts of an original Marussia F1 Team – F1 car.
The impeccable mechanism consists of 184 individual components and features double spring barrels. Thanks to the spring barrels, the manual-wind tourbillion movement is capable to hold enough energy to keep the watch ticking for no less than 10 days. The new caliber that offers an amazing power reserve oscillates at the surprisingly slow frequency of only 18,000 vibrations per hour and it is built on 24 jewels. The movement is hand decorated (which is characteristic for Armin Strom collections), and it can be seen through the anti-reflective sapphire crystal front and back.
The newest member of the Armin Strom Racing Collection comes in a titanium PVD black case. Its sporty case measures 43.4 mm in diameter and it is constructed to resist water pressure of up to 50 meters (about 165 feet).
The skeletonized dial of the new Racing Tourbillon is rounded with a black ring featuring minute and hour scale, while the most of the dial is reserved for the movement. The tourbillon cage is situated at the 9 o’clock position and it represents a further proclamation of the outstanding achievement of the relatively young watchmaking brand.
The new Armin Strom Racing Tourbillon comes with an elegant, genuine black alligator strap with red stitching. There is also an additional black rubber strap. The strap ends with a double-fold clasp which will keep the watch secured to the wearer’s wrist.
The new Armin Strom is produced in only two pieces. The retail price of $129,000 is lower than the Marussia F1 Team car.
