World Rally star Sébastien Ogier joins famous racing champions Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and Alain Prost in the Tag Heuer’s celebrations of 150 years of motor sport. Swiss watchmaker proudly revealed that the new leader in Citroen’s WRC team became a member of the elite team of Tag Heuer’s ambassadors.
One of the biggest favorites for the 2011 WRC title, has been recognized as the solid brand’s promoter in every major arena of motor sports, explained TAG Heuer CEO Jean-Christophe Babin. “Adding the World Rally to our existing partnerships with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes in F1, Audi Sport in Le Mans and Endurance racing, the Automobile Club of Monaco, and our longstanding role as Official Watch of the Indy 500, truly makes us the “Masters of Speed” in the watch industry”, said Babin.
French driver didn’t hide his delight with new role in Tag’s Dream Team. He mentioned some of the biggest names from motor-racing that has been part of the TAG Heuer legend, from Juan Manuel Fangio and Ayrton Senna to Lewis Hamilton.
Ogier will participate worldwide in the Swiss watchmaker’s celebrations, which highlight – traveling exhibition of historic brand’s watches – is inspired by motor-racing. “The name of Tag’s Celebrations, “Mastering Speed” is also the ideal expression of my sport, the rally”, said Citroen’s driver.
“Time and precision are crucial in my sport. Mastering my speed in every single part of a rally leg, in slow corners as well as in high-speed straights, can help gaining time and rankings. Fractions of second can make the difference”, confirmed Sébastien Ogier.
Along with his role of ambassador, Ogier will help TAG Heuer’s designers and engineers to produce new frames for eyewears. The new brand’s star will also promote the latest addition of the Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 Chronograph.
