In order to mark the new sponsoring contract with Team Alinghi for the 2012 season, the renowned watchmaker revealed the new Hublot King Power Alinghi 4000 watch. Limited to just 100 pieces, this interesting diving watch with the remarkable water-resistance is completely crafted in carbon fibre.
We have already seen Hublot Oceanographic 4000 Carbon watch, which is the base for the new Alinghi version. Although we did not get anything new and surprising, it is still nice to see the high-end diving timepiece with subtle changes, such as Alinghi team’s logo and colors.
Hublot has always built close relationships with the world of sailing and the sea, through partnerships with Yacht Club Monaco, the Monaco Oceanographic Museum and its Institute and the Real Club Nautico de Palma with the Copa Del Rey. Three years ago, the Swiss watchmaker became a sponsor of Team Alinghi in the 33rd America’s Cup. After releasing Hublot King Power Alinghi Chronograph in 2010, it created another watch that commemorates this partnership.
It is pretty clear that any serious diver would be absolutely pleased with the ten times lower level of water-resistance. However, the stunning resistance up to 4000 meters is a matter of prestige and the fact that testifies about superb toughness of the watch. The new King Power Alinghi 4000 watch comes with same performances as the Oceanographic. Powered with a Hublot Caliber HUB1401 self-winding mechanism that comprises 23 jewels and 180 components, the watch features the brand’s innovative inner rotating bezel and locking system that provide easy-handling under water.
A robust, matt carbon fibre case has the diameter of 48 mm and features a carbon bezel with 6 H-shaped black PVD titanium screws, as well as a black PVD titanium crown with a black rubber insert, which is secured with a black PVD titanium guard. Beside incredible toughness, these materials are extremely light which makes the watch pretty comfortable despite its robustness. It is available with a nice Nomex rubber strap with contrasting red stitching and a black ceramic buckle. Finally, the King Power Alinghi 4000 watch is protected with anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
This year, Hublot launched several very interesting special editions of its King Power watches. We have already presented two limited editions of King Power “UEFA Euro 2012™ watch, the first King Power Miami Heat Chronograph watch, as well as twelve on-of-a-kinds King Power “Knockout” WBC watches.
