Fossil has announced the release of its new smart watch, named MetaWatch. This cutting-edge innovative timepiece will be available to communicate with PCs and smart phones via Bluetooth. It will also be able to receive push notifications that come from your e-mail, Facebook and Twitter accounts. Fossil has also invited other developers to take part in the project and increase compatibility of push notifications.
Metawatch by Fossil is built on TI CC2560 Bluetooth platform and based on the MSP430TM ultra low power microcontroller, to insure that the new smart watch will have low power consumption. That means that the new MetaWatch will last up to a whole week when fully charged. Fossil has also revealed that its smart watch includes a water resistance to 30 meters.
The exciting new MetaWatch will be available in July for $200. Fossil has designed both analog and digital version of its first smart watch. Recently, Japanese watchmaker Casio has also announced the release of its smart watch, named the Casio G-Shock Bluetooth GB-6900 Men’s Watch.
