The famous Japanese company Casio has adopted the slogan “Faces Inspired by Electronics” for Baselworld 2011 Watch and Jewelry Show. Casio’s intent has always been to create distinctive timepieces with groundbreaking electronics and functional design. This is exactly the kind of watches they promised to introduce for this year’s edition of the world’s biggest event in the watch industry.
Casio is exhibiting a great variety of innovative timepieces, including “smart watches” that are able to communicate with smart phones, as well as products from popular Edifice, Sheen, Oceanus and Protrek series. New models from the iconic G-Shock and Baby-G collections are also exhibited.
Smart Watches and New Mudman
One of the most notable new Casio watches is the G-Shock that communicates with Smart Phones. It is a shock-resistant timepiece with next generation performance. This amazing product will be released sometime in 2011, though the accurate release date is not available at this time.
This “Smart Watch” features a cutting-edge technology that enables wireless communications with very low power consumption. The other newcomer from G-Shock collection is the new Casio G-Shock Mudman model. The new G-9300 Mudman is mud and dust resistant, and equipped with magnetic and temperature sensors.
F1 Success Story
There are also two new flashy editions to Casio’s Edifice line of products. Casio has renewed its contract with the last year’s F1 world champions and will remain the Red Bull Racing Team Partner for the 2011 season. Casio logo will appear on racer’s and mechanical’s suits as well as on the front of the cars for third consecutive year.
This is the reason why the new EFR-501 is designed to look like the gauge of a sports car. The other new Edifice is the EQW-A1000DB, equipped with the “Smart Access” system that independently drives each hand by using separate motors.
The new Protrek high performance watch is suitable for various outdoor surroundings including mountain and ocean. It features compass, altitude and temperature displays and enhanced 20 Bar water resistance. Casio has also exhibited the new Oceanus radio controlled and solar powered watch with “Smart Access” system.
New Exciting Women’s Models
Casio has also announced the addition of five new models to Baby-G series (BGA 130/131 styles). The shock-resistant watches for women all feature an original visual effect. This effect named “Neon Illuminator” is realized by using a black light LED paired with special luminous link.
The last of Casio’s newcomers are from the Sheen collection for women. Models from the SHE-5514 and SHE-5512 series are delicate timepieces with romantic look, decorated with graceful Swarovski elements.
