Since the 1930s, when IWC introduced the very first watch dedicated to pilots and aviators, the IWC Pilot’s watches have been constantly improved, redesigned and equipped with more and more complicated functions. The result is, among other models, the latest IWC Pilot’s Chronograph Watch. With an elegant design given by the choice of materials used and with a completely restyled dial, Pilot’s Chronograph has become the outstanding classic in strong demand.

This impeccable timekeeper is powered by the robust Caliber 79320 mechanical chronograph movement. The self-winding movement functions as a stopwatch with aggregate timing up to 12 hours and shows the day and the date. Built on 25 jewels, the movement provides 44 hours of power reserve when fully wound. This automatic movement beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and it is actually the modified and decorated ETA Valjoux 7750. The same movement features in several IWC chronograph watches such as Ingenieur Double Chronograph Titanium, Aquatimer Chronograph and Portofino Chronograph Watch. This watch, like all IWC Pilot’s models, has the soft iron inner case for protection against magnetic fields which can be found near the electronic instruments so prevalent in the modern world.
IWC Pilots Watch Chronograph is housed in a round case crafted from stainless steel. The case has 43 mm in diameter and 15mm in thickness. A screw-in crown and two chronograph push buttons are traditionally situated on the right side of the case. The Swiss manufacturer from Schaffhausen protected this chronograph on both sides by convex sapphire glasses with antireflective coatings and also secured it against displacement by drop in air pressure. The case is constructed to resist water pressure up to 60 meters (200 feet).

A Classic Look of the Dial
Its dial leans heavily on the classical design of the Big Pilot’s Watch, as can be seen from the striking chapter ring and the propeller-like hands. The black dial uses white details to make an appealing contrast. The hour markers at the quarter hour, as well as an arrowhead index situated at the 12 o’clock position are filled with luminous materials. The legible dial features three sub-dials and date and day displays. Two chronograph counters for measuring 12 hours and 30 minutes are located at 6 and 12 o’clock positions, whereas a small second sub-dial with red sub-dial hand is situated at the 9 o’clock position. A cockpit-styled day aperture and a vertical triple date window are displayed at the 3 o’clock position.

IWC Pilot's Chronograph Watch IW377704
IWC offered two versions of Pilots Watch Chronograph. The first model IW377701 is made from stainless steel and it is attached to the wearer’s wrist with a black alligator leather strap with a classic pin buckle in steel. The other version with the referent number IW377704 is also crafted from stainless steel and comes with a matching steel bracelet with fine-adjustment clasp, whose length can be adjusted simply and exactly.
