Recently introduced Invicta Russian Diver Bridge Automatic timepiece is definitely one of the most interesting watches in the offer of the American brand. It features an unusual skeletonized mechanical movement with linear architecture which is visible from both sides. The Chinese-produced movement thus takes the center stage and makes the timepiece look extremely cool. Russian Diver Bridge Automatic Watch with a self-winding movement and a very interesting design is available with four different bezel colors (each of them is coupled with a leather strap) and has the retail price of $1,995.

The Invicta novelty looks as it was inspired by higher-end watches, namely a timekeeper from the Corum’s Ti-Bridge Collection. Since such haute horology watches are out of reach of a usual person, the timepiece from the Russian Diver series can be considered as a much cheaper substitute for pieces of this sort. Naturally, the quality of the production, movement’s specifications and materials used in this instance are not nearly as good. However, this is still a very noteworthy and originally looking piece, especially since it includes an automatic mechanical movement which is highly unusual for an Invicta timekeeper.

As it is often the case with Invicta products, the brand does not reveal much information regarding the movement that it used. Invicta simply states that the movement is made in China and that its name is Caliber L0911Z. A bit of investigative work however reveals that the caliber in question is constructed by the Hong Kong  based manufacturer PTS Resources Limited. It has the diameter of 40 mm and the thickness of 6 mm, while its only supported functions are hours and minutes. The frequency of the caliber is 21,600 vph, whereas the accuracy is +/- 45 seconds per day (which is far from COSC standards for a chronometer which request the punctuality of within -4/+6 seconds per day). When power reserve is concerned, it measures to a day and a half. As it can be seen through the transparent dial of the watch, the bridge and the winding rotor are with a brushed finish. Moreover, the rotor is engraved with the name of the series on the front side, whereas the rear side bears the inscription “Invicta”.

The skeletonized movement (both front and back are guarded with mineral crystal) is placed inside a large steel case (the width of 55 mm and the thickness of 16 mm) with a mirror-polished finish which is likewise seen on the serrated fixed bezel. On the flange which gives the watch a three-dimensional look are round luminous hour markers (on all positions except on the far left and right). Its hour and minute hands are likewise covered with a luminous material. Invicta Russian Diver Bridge Automatic also incorporates the recognizable crown with a protection and a chain which are the trademarks of the collection. Despite being called a “Diver”, the watch actually has water resistance of 100 meters. When speaking about the attachment, Invicta chose a black leather strap with a buckle clasp.
