Hublot has launched a new chronograph from the King Power collection dubbed 692 Bang. The watch with a large black ceramic housing is made in a restricted series of 25 pieces and it is available solely in the watchmaker’s flagship boutique in New York. The exclusive shop is located in the Madison Avenue 692 and the address number is even included in the name of the piece. There are also other additional tributes to The Big Apple and the brand’s boutique featured on the watch. These are primarily the color scheme of the piece and the appropriate engraving at the case back. Hublot King Power 692 Bang is available at the price of $26,200.
The appearance of the newcomer from the King Power collection serves as a homage to The City That Never Sleeps which is the only place where it can be bought. Even though the watch has a prevailing black styling, it also includes numerous yellow accents which are made in the same shade as the recognizable taxis of New York. The black components of the model are its micro-blasted ceramic case (which has the standard large diameter of 48 mm, typical for the series), a bezel fixed with six titanium screws, the crown made in the same material as the bezel and with a rubber insert, as well as the dial. However, the multi-layered dial also features lots of yellow accents. These are visible on the flange (the markers of hour, minute/ second and second fragments are all yellow), as well as on skeletonized central hands and pointers on its sub-dials.
Moreover, there are additional yellow accents on the attachment of Hublot King Power 692 Bang timekeeper. The watch actually comes with two interchangeable wristlets, both made from the combination of hornback crocodile and rubber. While the first one is yellow with black stitching, the other one is some sort of its negative and has these colors reversed. The final tribute to the only place where the watch can be bought is visible on an engraving on its solid metal case-back. It depicts the façade of the historic building where the Hublot’s New York boutique is set and which was designed by a renowned architect, Peter Marino.
Finally, it should be said that the newcomer includes a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and that it runs on an automatic mechanical chrono caliber with a power reserve of 42 hours.
