Hublot has created a limited edition timepiece for the luxury yacht manufacturer VanDutch. The piece in question is called Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph VanDutch. It is a black piece which evokes the style of the boats which the famed Dutch makes. It comes with a dark exterior made of ceramics and with the matching skeletonized dial which reveals the inner workings of its automatic chronograph movement. The piece is limited to 50 copies.
Just like it is seen on the vessels that are created by VanDutch, the new Hublot watch uses modern materials in its construction. Its typical styled Classic Fusion round housing is made of polished black ceramic. The same material was used in the creation of its crown and pushers, as well as for its skeletonized case-back. Furthermore, there is a bezel made of gray composite resin. The bezel is fixed with seven blackened screws, as it is the typical manner of the collection.
The black ceramic housing has the diameter of 45 mm and the thickness of 13.4, while its supported water resistance measures to 50 meters.
The face of Hublot Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph VanDutch timepiece is guarded with a sapphire crystal glass with glare-proofed treatment. Anti-reflective sapphire, this time with the logo of VanDutch, is also used on the rear side of the housing.
As the watch features a skeletonized dial, it is likewise made in sapphire which in this instance received a polished treatment and it is paired with black-plated appliqué numerals and polished hands with the same plating.
The beating heart of the piece is Caliber Hublot HUB1155. It is a self-winding chronograph which consists of 207 components and integrates as much as 60 jewels in its construction. The skeletonized movement is 30 mm wide and 7.1 mm thick. It includes sub-dials for 30 minutes, 12 hours and small seconds. Additionally, the movement includes a date display which is executed by the means of a rectangular aperture that is placed on the six o’clock position. Caliber HUB1155 functions at the frequency of 4 Hz and it is supplied with a power reserve which lasts for 42 hours.
The manufacturer sells this limited edition piece with two types of rubber attachments. The first one of these features black rubber combined with gray calf and it sports gray stitching. The other, simpler variant is an all black rubber strap. Both types of wristlets lock with deployant buckles made of stainless steel with black PVD treatment.
