Girard-Perregaux unveiled the new version of its famous Vintage 1945 Lady model that now features a new face with a dial elegantly adorned with a row of diamonds and elegant Arabic numerals 3, 9 and 12.
This beautiful novelty from the famous Swiss manufacturer is presented in art deco inspired stainless steel case which measures 28.20 x 27.86mm. The feminine square case is shielded with anti-reflective sapphire crystals on both sides. The water resistance is assured down to 30 meters (about 100 feet). The case is also encrusted with two rows of diamonds. Each of two horns is set with 15 diamonds to form two dazzling rows.
In total, the GP Vintage 1945 Lady Edition 2014 has 72 brilliant-cut diamonds which is much more gems when compared with the previous model.
The new Girard-Perregaux features a stunning white lacquered dial. The setting of 42 brilliant-cut diamonds at its center instantaneously draws attention. These gems actually recall the rail track minute display of the original models of the collection. The redesigned version of the Vintage 1945 Lady timepiece now comes with three Arabic numerals, instead the one numeral (12) on the earlier version. The date display appears in the same discreet aperture located at the 6 o’clock position. The hour and minute hands are the same – dauphine-styled and delicately shaped.
The case back of the new GP timepiece is secured with four screws and features see-through sapphire crystal glass that provides an unobstructed view at the movement’s oscillating weight, decorated with a tapestry motif. The beating heart of the watch is the in-house manufactured caliber GP02700-0003 mechanical movement which is among the smallest to be found in watchmaking, with its diameter of only 19.4 mm. The self-winding movement offers no less than 36 hours of power reserve and has a beating rate of 28,800 alternations per hour (4 Hz). Technically and aesthetically outstanding, this caliber is perfect for small-sized wristwatches.
Special features of this impeccable caliber include a unidirectional rotor with non-lubricated ceramic ball bearings, an escape-wheel pivoting between two corresponding settings, a swiveling balance-cock offering greater precision for controlling the movements of the balance, a solution that enhances performance and long-term reliability, thus significantly assisting watchmakers when making their adjustments.
Girard-Perregaux offers two models of the Vintage 1945 Lady Edition 2014 model. The one teamed with a black alligator leather strap (ref. 25860D11A1A1-CK6A) and the other secured to the wearer’s wrist with an elegant steel bracelet (ref. 25860D11A1A1-11A), both ending with a triple safety folding buckle in steel.
