The newest member of the Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye collection is the seductive model named Water Lily. This stunning newcomer features an oval, feminine case encrusted with sparkling diamonds set on its bezel.
Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Water Lily is offered in two variants both being decorated with 412 brilliant-cut diamonds on their dials. The first model (ref. 80489D53A1B4-CK9A) boasts two opening petals on its dial made of 6 marquise-cut made of pink sapphires, while the green version (ref. 80489D53A1B4-CKAA) comes with emeralds instead.
Those diamonds which are set around the flowers are specially set in order to bring to mind waves movements as the design recalls a pond of water-lilies. Furthermore, the grain-setting technique was used to keep a perfect shine. The gorgeous dial is shielded with sapphire crystal glass.
The beating heart of the Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Water Lily is the in-house manufactured GP03300-0101 self-winding movement which provides the highest accuracy and long-term reliability. The new Cat’s Eye is housed in 18-karat white gold case which measures 35.44mm in diameter and 11.30mm in thickness. Depending on the model, the watch is secured to the wearer’s wrist with either pink or green alligator leather strap, each ending with a white gold pin buckle.
The scientific name of the Water Lily is “Nymphaea”. It comes from a Greek word ‘nymph’ which in Greek mythology means a feminine spirit that inhabits water bodies. The pink model enhances the gentle loving energy, whereas the green model represents the heart chakra in Hindu belief.
The feminine case of the Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Water Lily is proven to be water resistant up to 30 meters (approximately 100 feet).
