Try Something Completelly Different – Philippe S+arck O-Ring Watch

Though the multitude of manufacturers try to create unique products that are totally different from the rest of the stuff on the market, the end result of these efforts is rarely successful and unique such as Fossil Philippe S+arc O-Ring Watch. This original digital timepiece is a part of the series that came as cooperation with a famous French product designer, Philippe Starck.

Fossil Philippe S+arck O-Ring Watch PH1085The leader of the New Design Style, Philippe Starck, always tries to incorporate imagination, surprises and fantasy into his designs. These qualities are clearly visible in the O-Ring watches which are a part of the S+arck collection of Fossil Watches (we previously reviewed another product from the collection, Black Silicone Glitz Digi Watch PH1114).

An interesting and usual dial of the O-Ring timepiece will undoubtedly catch the attention of all people around you, in the case you decide to acquire this product. The name of the watch derives from an extremely likable feature – from a transparent circular ring in the middle of the dial. Besides, the Fossil O-Ring wristwatch for men comes in a box that shares the same round see-through window theme.

Very Original but Not Very Functional

The original design of the digital dial dictates the unusual display of the correct time. Hours are indicated with Arabic numbers, while the black lines indicate minutes. For example, if the correct time is 3:15, than the display will show number three (at its natural position on the dial). Fifteen minutes will be indicated with fifteen black lines.

Fossil Philippe S+arck O-Ring Watch PH1107However, since Fossil has not included a back light (which is quite an unreasonable decision), there can be serious difficulties with the legibility, especially in the dark. Another possible flaw of the Fossil’s O-Ring Watch for men is the fact that it possesses no additional functions apart from telling the time.

There are five versions of the O-Ring timepieces. The four variations include a cases that are 41 mm wide and 12 mm thick. Two models (out of four with 41 mm cases) are with steel bracelets. The third has a black leather strap, and the fourth version includes a black poly-urethane strap.

Fossil Philippe S+arck O-Ring Watch PH1095Fossil Philippe S+arck O-Ring Watch PH1095The model PH1085 has a grey dial and a black poly-urethane band. The version PH1095 has a green dial and a leather strap. The variation PH1108 sports a green dial and a steel bracelet, whereas the model PH1107 combines a steel bracelet with an orange dial.

There is also a smaller version (PH1109) that has a 30 mm wide case, a green dial and a black rubber band. All models are water proof to 30 meters and available for around $150.

Wow! I can`t believe, this is so cool…..the dial is too good……a perfect thing……I must have it!

  2. Pablo Olin December 31, 2011

The model with a gray dial has the best contrast between the dial and the strap……All other models are pretty, too, but this one is the best. How can I buy it and for what price?

  3. Adrian Pepe December 31, 2011

This watch looks very strange……there are no hands and analog display, and the same shape is interesting….a very good novelty…..Great job .

  4. Lee Morton December 31, 2011

This original and unique case does not have the appearance of a watch. Fossil is really a chamber of incredible imagination. I like this interesting digital jewelry.

  5. Ricky Wolf December 31, 2011

Fossil is always an original, but in this case, it is not functional. This space appearance of the dial can be worn only on special occasions because it has poor readability.

  6. Edwin Clay December 31, 2011

Ricky has a good opinion….. In addition, this watch has the looks and features that would satisfy only the needs of women.
