Unlike the palette of products for men, Fortis watches intended for women are quite scarce. Currently, the watchmaker from Grenchen offers only three models, even though some of the watches from the Ladies collection come in several variations. One of two mechanical Fortis timekeepers for women is Flieger Lady Watch. It is a product with inconspicuous design that combines silver tones of steel casing and opaline dial and works on a Swiss automatic mechanical movement.
Fortis Flieger Lady timepiece is made with a round two-part housing made of highly polished steel. The case is 34 mm wide, and its back is also made from steel and screwed-down. In combination with hardened mineral crystal, such construction makes this ladies’ timekeeper quite resilient to high pressures up to 200 meters. As it has been mentioned, the design of the watch is quite reserved and simple, and its face sports rhodanized gray Arabic numerals and hour and minute markers, as well as additional square hour markers and hands that are treated with luminous coatings. Flieger Lady also includes the central second hand and a date at the three o’clock position.
Inside the circular steel case, the Fortis model with the reference number 621.10.12 has a self-winding ETA 2893.A2 caliber with 21 jewels and the frequency of 28,800 vph. Its power reserve lasts for 42 hours. Even though the watch lacks decorations in the traditional sense of the word, that are often present on women’s timekeepers, its highly polished steel bracelet looks quite nice and contributes to the overall impression of reserved elegance.
