It is quite clear that Bulova Accutron GMT timepiece states the watchmaker’s intention to manufacture a high-class timepiece in the spirit of traditional watchmaking values. It is a pristine looking wristwatch for men comprising a mechanical movement with a GMT second time zone complication. The automatic caliber is displayed through the transparent case back. The back, as well as the front of the timepiece, is guarded with a sapphire crystal in accordance with the overall high-end theme.

The Swiss made section of Bulova Watches, Bulova Accutron, tends to favor the classical horological values and principles. This direction is visible throughout all of its collections, and can be noticed in the Gemini series. The mechanical timekeeper with the GMT complication is constructed with the high frequency (28,800 vph) ETA 2893-2 self-winding movement with 21 jewels, and a power reserve of approximately 42 hours. The automatic caliber is fitted inside a round case made of stainless steel which is 42 mm wide and 11.9 mm thick.

Furthermore, this timekeeper from the Bulova Accutron Gemini series includes a domed sapphire glass with a glare-proof treatment which guards its dial with a swirl motif pattern. Besides, its face displays applied oversized Arabic numerals and a date display at the right side. The inner 24-hour scale displays the GMT time in the combination with the central hand with a crescent-shaped tip. Besides, the watch has an onion-shaped crown, and its construction guarantees water resistance to 50 meters.

Two Black and one Silver Version

There are three variations of Bulova Accutron Gemini GMT timekeeper. The first model 63B153 is made with a silver whirl-patterned dial with 11 silver Roman numerals and the recognizable tuning fork logo on the top, while its GMT hand ends with a red-colored half-moon tip. The silver face is paired with black hands and a brown leather strap. The second version of the model with the designation 63B154 is on the other hand made with a black face that also includes a swirl pattern, whereas the GMT hand ends with a yellow tip.

This version keeps the silver numerals that look pretty cool, with the contrasting silver indices and hands on the black dial. In this case, the wristlet of choice is five-link steel bracelet with five identical narrow rows. The final version with the reference number 65B145 includes gold-colored accents, such as numerals, hands and a crown, and combines its black dial with a leather strap of the identical color.

Honestly, this watch is a total miss from Bulova company. I can´t understand how somebody can wear this watch around his wrist. It´s too ugly. That´s very strange because Bulova is a famous brand which has nice models with fine design. I really hope that the next watch from Bulova will be much better than this one.

Ross, you have forgotten one thing – Bulova is one of the best watch manufacturers. This watch may look ugly, but it has many good features and most of all, it has an excellent mechanism. I would really recommend you to buy this watch if you want a watch with a good mechanism, fine style and long tradition.

  3. Adolph Travis August 28, 2012

This watch has a very exciting dial design. I like it very much, although I like watches with robust case shapes and steel bracelets. This watch doesn’t have those characteristics, but it still remains a watch with a very nice design. I’m sure that many people will wear these watches around their wrists.
