A Chronograph for Professionals
Breitling Windrider Chronomat men’s watches are based on a Swiss company’s iconic timepiece, the Chronomat, which was originally created as an essential part of the equipment for Italian elite flight team Frecce Tricolori.
The iconic model first appeared in 1984 and was (unlike older Chronomats, before Ernest Schneider bought the company in 1978) primarily designed for pilots. In its design, Swiss manufacturer incorporated the information and advice they received from aviators.
The famous timepiece from 1984 was actually a foundation for all later incarnations of this watch, including its latest stage in evolution – Breitling Windrider Chronomat. Its appeal can be certified with the fact that Breitling Chronomat is still one of the company’s best-selling products.
Breitling Windrider Chronomat (which was, until 2008 actually called Chronomat Evolution) is certainly one of the most memorable and asserted mechanical chronographs in the world. Though this sort of Breitling watches evolved immensely in its technical and aesthetical aspects, it has still retained a distinctive style. However, it is certainly not just a stylish product with elegant lines. It is still definitely a true “instrument for professionals” – a precise, tough and above all, functional chronograph.
Reliable and Accurate
The case of the Windrider Chronomat watch has screw-locked pushpieces, which are essential for its capability to withstand pressure of 30 bars. That is also the technology which allows this Breitling timepiece to be shock proof.
Additional reliability can be attributed to its powerful movement Breitling Caliber 13, arguably one of the most accurate selfwinding movements in the world.
The Bretiling Windrider Chronomat watch has a power reserve of 42 hours and features a chronograph and a calendar. It has a polished steel case (though there are also variations with two-tone steel, combination of steel and gold, as well as 18K yellow gold case). Its bezel is unidirectional and its crown is crew-locked with two gaskets.
The crystal of this Breitling Windrider Chronomat is cambered sapphire, which is glareproofed on both sides. A dial of the watch is rhodium with silver subdials. Both hands and markers are luminescent. The diameter of case is 43.7 mm and 17.1 mm thick. The Bretiling Windrider Chronomat watch weighs 120 grams.
The bracelet of this timepiece is a steel Breitling Pilot bracelet and it has a deployment buckle.
