Though Breitling is best known for its aeronautical watches (expressed in their slogan “Instruments for professional), and in recent times for excellent diving watches, timepieces for travelers have always been a very important part of the Swiss watchmakers collection. The new Transocean Chronograph Unitime watch is exactly from the latter category and it represents all the technical expertise that is associated with the timepiece manufacturer from Grenchen. It is a high-end automatic mechanical product with B 05 movement which was completely designed and produced in-house. Its name gives away the complications that are included: a chronograph and a universal time feature – a function that allows its wearer the effortless reading of current time around the globe, in all of standard 24 time zones. This feature is enabled by the inclusion of double disk that enables the wearer to shift through time zones with a simple turn of its crown which corrects its hour hand, the city disk and the 24-hour disk to a proper position, while the date display is automatically adjusted to the correct position.
According to the representatives of the company, the new Transocean traveler’s watch draws its inspiration from the amazing, yet relatively unknown model from the 1950s that was named Breitling Geneve Unitime Worldtime. This timepiece was looking pretty striking, and furthermore, it was exceptional due to the inclusion of the world time feature which was not that usual in the middle of the last century. It was also pretty big for its time (but not really by the standards of today) with the diameter of 37 mm. It had a dial that is in a sense similar to the new model with the map of the world, but unlike the new launch from Breitling, it did not include a chronograph function.

Breitling Geneve Unitime Worldtime Watch
After a few information about the watch that inspired a new flagship model by Breitling, let us present more details about the newcomer which is characterized not only by the cool features, but also by a pretty amazing overall style. The technical prowess is a result of the inclusion of Breitling proprietary B 05 movement which derives from the first ever in-house mechanism by the company B 01 which was supplied with an additional complication. In this instance, the watch is made with patented double disc system controlled by the crown that shows time in 24 hour zones. Adjustment of time zones is possible in both directions while the date adjusts automatically. The especially interesting feature is that the adjustment of time zones does not affect the chronograph feature, in case it is running at the time. By the way, its chrono feature allows the precision of ¼ of second (as it is usual for Breitling chronographs). The B 05 self-winding movement enables the setting of time with the use of auto-centering reset hammers and a customizable index regulator system. It is a high frequency mechanism that features the frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (or 4Hz). B 05 has 56 jewels and provides a power reserve of over 70 hours.
Steel or Red Gold Case, Black or White Dial
Breitling’s B 05 automatic which is available only in this model is fitted inside a large round case that is large for the present standards, and has the diameter of 46 mm (which is 9 mm wider than the inspirational vintage model that was considered substantial at the time). There are two possible materials for the case of Breitling Transocean Chronograph Unitime: stainless steel and 18 K red gold. The bidirectional bezel that is operated by the crown bears the names of major cities for 24 hour zones and is available in several languages, in order to be appealing to wider range of customers.
The dial of the new model includes a blue representation of the globe that is placed inside a Polar white or a black dial. Both black and white dials are made with silver subsidiary dials. Its bar shaped hour markers and hands (which have luminous coating for improved visibility) are made in a material that matches the case. The watch includes three additional counters, as it is customary for the chronographs constructed by Breitling (small seconds at the nine o’clock position, 12-hour chrono sub-dial at the bottom, while 30-minute chrono sits at the nine o’clock place) and a date aperture is situated between the five and six o’clock positions.
Breitling Transocean Chronograph Unitime timepiece is constructed with convex sapphire glass with glare-proof treatment on both sides. It is also important to say that the overall functionality and sturdiness of the watch are improved by the fact that it is water proof to 100 m (330 ft). For this model, the Swiss watchmaker offers a quite narrow choice of bracelets: two types of leather straps: Barenia or crocodile that can be paired with a tang-type buckle or a folding clasp. The steel version of the watch is also available with Ocean Classic bracelet which is basically a stainless steel mash bracelet.

This is the best watch from Breitling, that`s for sure! It`s just amazing. If you just look at the dial, you`ll see that this watch has a great design. It`s probably the most beautiful dial among all Breitling collections.
I agree with Wayne`s comment. This watch is phenomenal. I really like the center of the dial and the picture of the Earth, it looks cool. But there is another interesting thing. Whenever I thought that Breitling doesn’t have to offer anything more, they surprised me pleasantly. I think that this watch is their best work so far. It looks like a masterpiece.
If you just look at the great features of this nice watch, you will be very surprised. Pleasantly, of course. I just can`t believe that there is a watch with this kind of interesting design and with so many great functions. This Breitling Transocean will be my next watch, that`s for sure!
You don’t need anything else to see, just this watch, and you’ll be happy in that moment. This is truly the best watch I have ever seen in my entire life. I want to buy it. Can anyone tell me how much it costs and how I can order it?
